Keeping Baby’s Bum “maleun”!
With our new family member, life has certainly changed.
A typical day goes like clockwork: time for feeds, bath, naps, tucking into bed at night and in between everything else, diaper greetings with poop and pee. We got very tickled when we heard baby V fart for the first time! Yes, fart. And we learned that a baby’s fart comes in adult-sizes too – in terms of volume level and intensity! Imagine a “loud” one coming out from this little bub. When we heard it, dear Hub thought it came from me, and vice versa! :P
Poop business is not just talking about shit – don’t mean to be rude!. Never did it cross my mind before (say, a decade ago?) that poop could actually start a thread of discussion between husband and wife, fellow mummies and daddies, your mum/dad/in laws/confinement nanny. Keeping baby comfortable is essential throughout the day. Imagine being soaked in dampness down there the entire time?? Yuergh. Keeping baby maleun (“dry” in Korean) is hygienically important (is there such a term?)
It’s common to hear of parents raiding baby fairs to stock up on diapers and milk powder for their little ones. Usage for both is high; for diapers, a newborn goes through 5 – 7 in a day and for baby V who’s 7+ weeks now, uses about 6 – 8 diapers each day depending on her output. At this point, her pee load is also higher, and it’s always good to keep her bottom dry whenever possible. Hunting for the right diapers depends on several factors (wow, sounds like the mastery of art and science of diaper, eh?) including: baby’s skin suitability or reaction (any diaper rash despite frequent change?), material of diapers, absorbency, fit, comfort, to name a few.
I never knew there were that many brands out there until my recent promotion :P Just like fashion trends and pop culture, the Korean wave has hit town too. Happy Blossom Tape Premium Diapers are one of the new kids from kimchi land! Happy Blossom Tape Diapers become softer the more babies move. This makes it more comfortable to wear for longer. Imagine being wet plus stuck in a stiff diaper?! Yuergh.
So, how does Happy Blossom make baby bottoms and parents happy? They incorporate a multi-dimensional concept to put smiles on many faces:
① Neutrino System
Quick absorption and air permeability effects by a new concept of absorber and 4-layered method to help keep baby’s skin feeling fresh, which is especially important since diapers are worn all the time.
② Safeguard System
Developed with the Heritz fabric and coupled with Happy Blossom’s unique lump preventing quilting system for quick absorption of urine, to help minimize skin irritation.
- ③ Royal Taheebo
Found in the Amazon, taheebo is extracted from inner tree barks. Did you know? Taheebo, in capsule or tablet forms is consumed by the Philippines for pain relief. It is also known as the pau d’arco tea which helps to promote better sleep. Its anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties help protect baby’s delicate skin.
④ Heritage Embo
Application of traditional, modern, plaid and 3D embossing – helps to “catch” stools!
⑤ Bedtime Good Night
Light scented with a soothing fragrance, it’s added to make one feel as if you are walking on the clouds fit for a dignified Royal family. Comfortable without feeling overpowering!
⑥ Monarchy Design
Luxurious design representing the tradition of Britain’s imperial family and Happy Blossom’s diapers favour a slightly larger cut, iconic of their brand, for better fit and feel during movements especially for active babies.
Baby V gets to try on the S size – in orange pack in above pic. This pack comes with 58 pieces and fits babies from newborn to 7kg. All sizes retail at SGD$25.90. Since the cutting is slightly bigger, when it is worn, we put on looser clothing on her. Anyway, this bub is afraid of being hot, we’re already dressing her up in clothes meant for 3mth olds :P
We’ve tried a few brands and I do notice that Happy Blossom seems more comfy on Baby V especially around her thighs. It’s common for this area to be tight, leaving some marks on her skin. It doesn’t happen when she wears Happy Blossom though, and the material for this part is soft, almost like tissue so I guess she feels the difference too since she loves to kick and exercise her legs!
Mums and dads are time-strapped – if you’d like to get these imported diapers (Happy Blossom has pull-ups too for older kids too!), shop at your convenience and have them delivered to your doorstep! Mini Misfits stocks diapers, teethers, shoes for your kiddos and even newly arrived cute clothes from the USA! Just in time for Chinese New Year wardrobe :P
