Milk for Mummies

Pregnant women and breastfeeding/lactating mums are naturally more cautious about their diet. Ensuring nutrients are derived from your meals and avoiding certain ones such as raw food helps to keep your baby and yourself away from potential risks. During this time, it is also essential to consume food which aid in baby’s development namely iron, calcium, DHA, AHA etc.

This post is an add-on to our previous article. Thank you to the lovely marketer at Nestlé Singapore for specially arranging this tin of their newly rebranded Nestle Mom & Me for moi to try. It was previously unavailable at time of my review for the other brands. Now, we have a more complete review! :)

Bottoms up to yummy nutrients for mummy and baby!

Whether you’re sporting a bump or nursing your baby, getting the right nourishment is definitely essential – hey, you’re not eating for one anymore! Maternal milk (or loosely called “mummy’s milk”; that’s what I refer to them when speaking to the Hub… haha!) comes in handy to provide that daily dose of good stuff throughout the journey. Well, the REAL mummy’s milk is for baby now and breastfeeding does take a toll on mums. Amazingly, breastmilk is able to “adjust” its composition of nutrients to meet baby’s needs e.g. if baby has a cold, somehow some signals are transmitted and ta-da! Baby gets the best, natural remedy! Of course, this is just explained casually by thyself… do research a little to find out more why “breast is best”. Some mums favour KellyMom for evidence-based breastfeeding and parenting tips. And, if you’re a mum-to-be or a mum, you might already realize that for every thesis, there’s an anti-thesis. There’s no 1 answer to a problem… so… learn to take things with a pinch of salt and make the decision on your own (maternal instincts?).

Enjoy a cuppa for brekkie! Bye Bye coffee!

Happy motherhood, ladies. And to daddies, remember you’re a very important team player in this new chapter. Enjoy parenthood together and keep the positivity brimming! When you see your little one smiling back at you, it melts your hearts and all frustrations in the day disappears instantly!
